Serialized Fiction in Latin America: The Early Years
Travelling Exhibition
THE TELENOVELA ARCHIVES is a travelling exhibition that explores the history of TV serials in Latin America, and its cultural impact around the world and across generations.
The project showcases an exceptional collection of visual materials–photographs, advertising materials, books, periodicals, films, and videos–to document the origins and evolution of storytelling formats in Latin America. The exhibition is organized around a timeline, and it highlights the work of writers, producers, actors, and technicians: the people that created the most popular and influential programs in the region, including telenovelas as well as teleplays and other types of serials. The content is presented in its historical context and explores how Latin American telenovelas became a global phenomenon.
